A Bauhaus Christmas at The Tatum House

This iconic New Canaan mid century “Modern’ is on the National Register of Historic places. It was built by Architect Hugh Smallen in 1962 and expanded by him in 1967. Its Bauhaus-inspired minimalism boasts clean lines, flowing spaces and expansive picturesque windows highlighting nature. The home will be styled for the holidays by Becka Citron. The holiday décor in the original home’s footprint will pay homage to its Bauhaus heritage, while the décor in the expansion will take on a more Scandinavian vibe in line with the homeowners’ aesthetics.

This stunning, Nantucket-style home on a picturesque lot marries stunning architecture with upscale finishes and modern luxuries throughout. Interior designers Michael Canoro and Elyssa Frederico of Eastman Interiors have helped the homeowners create a beautiful, serene home with light natural tones throughout. Thanks to Danielle of Simply Sorted Living, it is an organizer’s paradise, with functional spaces and systems for everything! For the holiday décor, Michael, Elyssa and Danielle have gone full glam, punctuating the home’s light décor, 7 fireplaces and countless trees with metallics and crystal.

This gambrel style Connecticut cottage has been exquisitely renovated and decorated by the homeowner, Styling by Niche by Nathalie Schubert, to fit the needs of a modern family. The cozy, quintessential exterior conceals a surprisingly airy interior filled with family art, eclectic finishes and bold textures. The design deftly integrates unique details and custom pieces to create functional, layered spaces filled with light and life. For the holiday season, Nathalie will be drawing from her Southern roots to create a unique and charming décor inspired by the style and elegance of the Biltmore Mansion in Ashville, NC, and the beauty of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.

Despite its size the home is a cozy, family-friendly space that showcases the history and travels of the homeowners, with an eclectic, global décor incorporating many treasures brought home from their travels. The home will be styled by Kate Ferguson of Palomino Interiors for the holidays. Kate will embrace the existing Moroccan influences in the home to create an “experiential” tour that will transport visitors across the globe.

This historic 1910-built stucco home was the original estate home of Silvermine Farm. It has been fully updated by the current owner and designer, Meghann Smith, while maintaining an enchanting, old-world vibe. The light white exteriors contrast with the moody dark interiors of the home to create a soothing, relaxing environment with cozy spaces indoors and out to escape and dream. For the holiday season, Meghann’s design will feature multiple live floral creations. She draws her inspiration from Great Gatsby and hopes to transport guests back to a time when opulence was all the rage.
